First night away!

For Samuel's birthday, my parents got us a night at the new resort at Silverton Gardens. It included dinner, the hotel room, and breakfast in the morning. We were both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time since this would be the first time for both of us away from Malachi overnight. I know this isn't a big deal to some people, but I guess we are a little paranoid about "being there for our kids" after our ordeal with Natalie. We know that we need time for ourselves and we aren't abandoning him or anything like that, but I guess we are sort of ultra sensitive in that area. Anyways, Sunday the 28th was the day. We decided to go see Valkyrie first before we headed out. That movie was so good!! We both really enjoyed it. Afterwards, we went home to pack our overnight bag, I cried a little...well, a lot...and off we went. Dinner was good, but it is a more snooty restaurant--small portions, high prices--something we aren't accustomed to. We watched part of Castaway on TV (another of my favorites, by the way!!), and then went to get some Dairy Queen...yummy we haven't had that in a long time!! The room was nice, our own fireplace, a little patio area (would have been nice during a better time of the year!), and a nice, big bathroom. The bed was pretty comfy for a hotel bed, but the linens were great. Feather pillows and comforter...soft and fluffy...my favorite! Samuel let me turn on the air conditioning after we got done watching TV so the room could cool down after using the fireplace so I could cover up with the fluffy blankets. I slept pretty good and didn't even wake up in the middle of the night like I normally do! It was nice to be just married for a night and just spend time together. We concluded that it really wasn't as bad as we thought to leave Malachi, it just wasn't something we would like to do on a regular basis.
