Malachi has really been watching Toy Story 1 and 2 at home and has become a big Buzz Lightyear and Woody fanatic, so we thought that it would be a fun treat to take Malachi to see Toy Story 3 in the theater. I remember going to see my first theater movie (Follow that Bird!) with my mom about this age and what a big deal that was. We packed his Buzz and Woody backpack with a drink and snack (shhhh...don't tell! ;), a le-le blanket just in case he got too nervous, and of course his Buzz, Woody and Bullseye and told him that we were taking him to a surprise and didn't give even a hint as to what the surprise could be. He was quite concerned when leaving though, since Sapphira stayed home with Grandma and he didn't want to leave his "baby" at home. hehehe As much as she is starting to bug him, he is really quite protective of her...so cute! Anyways...when we got to the theater, he kept asking what the surprise was and when he would get it and we finally told him that it would be on the big TV (movie screen). I don't think he knew what to think when the previews started because it was sooo big and a lot louder than he is used to. Once the Pixar logo with the bouncing desk lamp came on, he got really excited. He yelled at the top of his lungs, "There's the light on the big TV!!!!!" So funny! There was a point during the movie where a claw machine saved the characters and he yelled again that the claw was saving them!! I didn't feel so bad though since another little boy toward the front got really excited and yelled when he first saw Woody. He sat pretty still until the last 10 minutes and then only wanted to sit on the other side of Daddy. He talked about it for days and still brings it up from time to time. I'm not sure he will remember it, but it was a great memory for us parents, too!
Before the movie started...a little unsure...
