My Poor Baby...

Please pray for Malachi. Since yesterday afternoon, he has been running a temperature of about 100 that comes down some with Tylenol. Early this morning around 3am, he woke up to nurse and was BURNING UP...took his temperature and it was 102.7 and Tylenol didn't bring it below 100. We called the clinic where he take him and the doctor told us to either take him to the hospital right away or wait until office hours and insist he be seen right away. We waited until morning (the last thing I wanted to do was take my fussy baby to the hospital and potentially expose him to even more illness and get him sicker than he already was. Besides, he could get some sleep at home). We went in at 8:15 am and didn't get home at noon. They took blood and urine samples, and did chest x-rays. His white cell count is high, suggesting infection, but the urine and x-rays looked completely normal. He said the next test to run is a SPINAL TAP (!!!) and that he doesn't like to do them unless he absolutely has to (I completely agree!!!). So we are at home now waiting and watching to make sure that he doesn't get any worse because then we have to get him back in ASAP. He isn't much fussier than normal, just tired because he normally sleeps all morning and didn't get much rest since he was getting messed with so much. I know from going through what we went through with Natalie that things could be SOOOOO much worse, but it is still hard to know that he is uncomfortable and not feeling well and not be able to do much about it. Please pray that his temperature returns to normal quickly so that he doesn't have to go back in!!!
Oh, and by the way, he weighed 16 pounds today...that's up 9 ounces from Friday. I guess feeling bad hasn't affected his appetite!!!
