Today, Malachi went to Grammy's house while I went to work for the first time in a while. Samuel's work has been very slow (which is very strange since he helps people who are behind on their home loans!!), so he has been getting sent home early every day for the last month and a half--luckily with pay!! Today Daddy didn't come home until a little later in the day after we were already on the way to Grammy's house, so Daddy got the lawn mowed and Malachi got to spend time with both Grammy and Grampy.
After we got home, Mommy gave Malachi a black eye...let me explain myself a little bit here!! I was tickling him under the chin like he loves and he jerked his head and I poked him right under his right eye. He didn't cry at all, but it is all red, swollen, and starting to bruise...great!!! Honest, I don't beat my kid!!
We had a 12 month check with a new doctor at 3:30. We decided to start going to a pediatrician instead of the general practitioner that he was seeing. The GP didn't always know all the answers to our questions, sometimes the answers to our questions would change from visit to visit when he told us to have him look at something again at the next visit, or he would say something that completely contradicted everything another doctor or nurse had told me. I just have to say...what a difference!!! Every question that we asked him is something that the other doctor had said was an issue or contradicted himself on, and each issue was no big deal to the new doctor and he has reasons to back each up. They gave us a nifty neato sheet of paper with his stats on it, a growth chart with his information marked on it, and clear written instructions about when his next appointment needs to be. We are so pleased!!! He weighed in at 25 pounds 1.5 ounces (70th percentile), 31 inches long (68th percentile), and had a head circumference of 48 cm (82nd percentile...he got Papa's huge head!!) He also got three shots today and cried the hardest he has ever cried about shots. I felt bad and he has been pretty cranky since. Hopefully a good night's sleep will do the trick!! :)
After the doctor appointment, I went to my Weight Watcher's meeting. I haven't updated since I completed my first week, so the following amount is the poundage lost after dieting for 4 weeks. Are you ready??? I'm quite excited and my leader says I'm doing quite well...I have lost 11.8 pounds!!! I am starting to notice that my clothes are starting to fit a bit differently and a couple people have told me my face looks thinner. I would just love to be able to get down to my pre-babies weight--I have already gotten Malachi's off, but still need to get most of Natalie's gone...I gained about 70 pounds with her. Got to love pre-eclampsia and stress eating!!
Well, I hope you all had a good day, too!! Hopefully the rest of my week is as productive as today!!!
