12.29.09--REAL Snow!!!

During nap time, it began to snow! It was really coming down and sticking and I was really bummed that Malachi was sleeping and may not have a chance to play in it before it got too dark. Well, he must have sensed something was up, since he only slept for half of his normal time!! Sapphira was still sleeping, so Malachi and I bundled up and went outside. I wasn't sure what to expect from Malachi since he hated the snow last year. This time, it took him a bit to warm up to the idea, and pretty soon, was was taking a few steps out into the snow to touch it, then onto the driveway to throw some, and pretty soon, he was running out in the dead end of our street with the neighbors. They were even kind enough to let Malachi ride on their sled which he thought was wonderful! The neighbor boys showed him how to make a snow angel (which he now does on the carpet in the toys after he dumps them out of the bins!) and that you can eat snow! He told me it tasted like water. At first he was picking up little bits and putting it in his mouth, but after a while he decided that was too much work and would just get down on his hands and knees and eat it right off the ground...why mess with hands, right?!? We had so much fun...too bad it didn't stay around for very long!
