7.9.11--Our own 4th of July!

Since we were out of town on the 4th, and we were able to get a bunch of fireworks for basically nothing during all the after-holiday sales, we decided to have our own 4th of July. The kids were so excited!

At one of the stands we stopped by to get sale items, the workers picked out a package of fireworks and gave both Malachi and Sapphira one. Malachi's was Transformer themed and Sapphira's had a big cat mask in it. I couldn't have picked more ones more suited to their interests! They were so excited!

Malachi decided it was necessary to wear a raincoat and hockey gloves to watch fireworks. hehe

For the last couple years, we have been away from home on the 4th, so we haven't done our own fireworks. I think from now on, we will do our best to shop the after-the-4th sales to get our supplies for cheap. We found one stand that had and everyday deal of buy one get one free, but then had 50% off all items on top of that, and then another one that was 75%. Both stands threw extras in for free since they were trying to get rid of their stash. We saved some of the items we bought this year for New Year's, birthdays, and in case we are home on the next 4th of July and then just stock up next year. Have I told you how much I love bargains?!
