Recently, we seem to have had a surge of squirrels in our neighborhood. I remember seeing them all the time growing up running all along the power lines and nesting in the numerous maples trees around our house. Our current neighborhood has underground lines, the trees are much farther apart and we have many neighborhood cats so our yard has been pretty much squirrel-less in the last 8 years we have lived here...until this fall. We have seen many hanging out in the tree in the front yard (where the above picture was taken), running across the street, and in the neighbor's yards. Needless to say, I know two children this makes incredibly happy! Sapphira calls them "babies", Malachi yells "squirrel-mals!" whenever he sees them and they both love to watch them scamper around and scale our tree. Here's to making more autumn memories!
