Worldwide Candle Lighting

December 9th, this coming Sunday, is The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting. On this day, in memory of a child, sibling, grandchild, etc., you light a candle at 7 pm local time and keep it burning for an hour, making a "wave" of candlelight across the world. Compassionate Friends is an organization with local chapters that helps loved ones deal with the death of their children, siblings, or grandchildren. We were not aware of this tradition last year, so starting this year, we will light a candle in our beautiful stained glass butterfly candle holder that was handcrafted specifically for us to honor our daughter Natalie (she would have been 1 year and 9 months old on the 14 of December). Please try to remember to light a candle in your home, if not for Natalie or someone else specific, for all the precious children who go to meet Jesus and all their families who feel empty without them. Thank you!
