I hope you all had as much as we did last night. We went to a friend's house and had yummy BBQ and visited until it got a bit darker. They have a son who is 8 weeks older than Malachi and they are starting to figure out that it is fun to play together, so they had fun running around the yard playing, yelling and eating grass!! :) I was a little concerned that Malachi might not be able to enjoy any fireworks this year (he loved them last year!) since he has put himself into a pretty good nighttime routine. We thought we would keep him up as late as we could and see what happened. Around 8pm, he started to melt down a little when a firework would make a loud noise, but once he figured things out and got his second wind, he was loving it!! He would point and go "oooh" at the big illegal ones the neighbors down the street were setting off, and liked clapping for the Oregon-bought ones our group was setting off at our end of the street.
