I can hardly believe that Sapphira is already two weeks old!! But what I think is really funny is that today is my due date!! Just seems weird!! This morning she had her two week check up. We have been struggling with what was first a clogged right tear duct that then turned into conjunctivitis in both eyes. The doctor thought that things were getting better and that the right eye is nearly done with the infection. Poor thing constantly has goop in her eye and will often wake up from naps with her eyelashes mattered shut. Hopefully that will all be done and over with very soon! She continues to be our little miss...she measured 20 inches long, putting her in the 38th percentile and weighed in at 7 pounds, 9.5 ounces which is the 27th percentile. Her head was 36.5 cm which is the 65th percentile. I guess our kids have big heads compared to their body!!! These measurements are hilarious to me since at Malachi's two week appointment, he weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces (above the 95th percentile) and measured 22 1/8 inches long (also above the 95th percentile). I hardly know what to do with such a little thing! Her newborn clothes are still so big on her! Earlier this week, Samuel did a height predictor for Malachi and after consulting several different ones, they all said that he would be between 7' and 7'2" at age 21. Even if you double his 2 year old height of 3'5" (which I have heard at a general "rule of thumb"), he'll still be 6'10". We know that we can't take any of these as a guarantee, but Samuel's paternal grandfather was over 7 feet tall, so this is not completely outrageous. If Sapphira continues to be little petite miss, I think it will be so funny to have such a big brother and tiny little sister. It is just so amazing to me that they both came from the same two people and inherited such different genes. It will be so much fun to watch them grow and develop together!
Welcome to our little cyber-spot! Our sweet family has been split in two...four of us walk together here on earth, while 3 of our sweet babies are snuggling with our Savior. Natalie was born on March 14 and met Jesus on March 16, 2006. Her little brother, Malachi, joined us in May 2007. Our second daughter, Sapphira arrived in April 2009. Our precious 4th child, whom we named Asher, met Jesus in Febuary 2011. Our 5th sweet baby, Azra, joined her siblings in Heaven in August 2011. Baby Amira is due to arrive in March 2013. A very patient dog and a cat round out our crew. Thanks for spending time with us!
